Location, Location, Location....
A visual comparison of Glacier's Reach Units

The internet is great for making your vacation plans. But lists of amenities and photos don't tell the whole story. Your memories of a really great vacation in a beautiful place probably includes basking in those wonderful views from the privacy of your window, lanai or deck.

We believe that if you go to Hawaii, you want to enjoy the vast beauty of the ocean. And in Whistler, you want to cast your eyes on those incredible mountains. We hope these brief comparisons will convince you that you get a lot more value from the 3 townhomes we have to offer. For a few dollars more, wouldn't you rather have it all? (twilight photo below from our unit 124)

Here's a few facts about the Glacier's Reach townhome community that may help as you make your comparisons:

  • All townhomes in Glacier's Reach have individual outside entrances. This is not like a hotel, where you go down a hallway and find the door to your room. It was designed as a group of private homes
  • Private hot tubs were integrated into the plans, so they are generously sized, unlike developments where an owner added a hot tub later, and had weight/size limits
  • The location at the north end of the village is ideal. Everything is in walking distance, but the noise of the central village is far away.
  • There are at least 7 different floor plans, arranged on different levels with different exposure. In other words, each unit is unique. Comparing statistics alone can leave out the most critical aspect- the asthetics of each unit location.
  • Because the property is fairly flat, the units along the south side have a considerably better view and sunshine exposure.

The Valley Trail (with center line) runs along the south perimeter of Glacier's Reach. As you can see above, there are no units to the right (south) of the cobblestone Glacier's Reach path and trail and there is a buffer to the road, which is very wide. This placement ensures a virtually unobstructed view of both mountains. All 3 of our townhomes are situated along this south edge with a HUGE panoramic view. The main shuttle stop is across the street, making it easy to reach the lifts.

The photo above is a typical view from the vast majority of Glacier's Reach townhomes which face the courtyard. The grounds are very lovely and the buildings are pleasing to the eye.

But how does that compare with the photo from the deck of our unit 28 below?

If you like sunshine, look again at the courtyard photo above. All the homes to the right face the north, and are in constant shadow.

In the photo below, notice the ground floor unit on the left. It is in the shadow of the deck above and has a hot tub on a cement pad separated only by a thin lattice, which also blocks any possible view.

As a contrast, think of the privacy and view from this top deck hot tub in our unit 17. ALL of our units are on the top floor with spacious view decks and private hot tubs. We have glass as a safety enclosure around our decks, so no views are blocked by privacy lattice. (Note glass enclosure on unit 28 photo above)

We hope this short visual comparison has helped you to see why any of our 3 townhomes- Units 17, 28 & 124 - will ensure a spectacular vacation in Whistler.
